Anderselite, in partnership with our parent company Morson Talent, are delighted to be recruiting several Commercial Manager roles for our client Thales. Operating in the Aerospace & Defence sector, Thales require Commercial Managers to lead and support on bids and contracts domestically and internationally for the development, manufacture and support of sonar systems for submarines, surface warships, and aircraft as well as communications masts and systems for submarines.

You will be working as part of a team of several experienced Commercial Managers and predominantly based out of their Cheadle office with hybrid working available. Internally you will liaise with a broad range of stakeholders within the UK and internationally with significant engagement with sales, finance, project management and other business functions.


Responsibilities:

Prepare winning commercial proposals/quotations, including but not limited to: draft contract commentary, input to bid risk assessments and commercial and pricing strategy.

Support to contract negotiation and Manage Contracts within an assigned portfolio and any other ad-hoc tasks

Support and participate un the business strategy, liaise with customers for all communication and provide proactive business support in the winning of bids

Draft, propose, generate, negotiate agreements, contracts, order, proposals, quotations, changes and terms and conditions in accordance with the agreed strategy and customer requirement.

Manage al contractual aspects within an assigned portfolio with due regard to Compliance, Governance and Group-wide actions

Serve as a focal point for customers, partners and internal stakeholders regarding contractual matters by establishing good customer relationships and communication.

Identifying potential risks to support the development of appropriate mitigation plans.

Ensure a robust contractual baseline is established and maintained including the management of contractual change and contract amendments.

Provide guidance on compliance with terms and conditions identifying flow down terms and risk by supporting the negotiation of major subcontracts


Skills & Experience:

Excellent communication and influencing skills

Good commercial/business awareness

Forward leaning, able to look at the broader strategy and outcomes beyond the immediate task, able to think proactively, creatively and anticipate needs.

Able to make sense of complex scenarios, translating into strategy and tactical solutions.

Resilience and tenacity to deal with periods of high intensity work, notably during bid activity

Record of accomplishment in assessing risk and communicating management/mitigation requirements

Experience and competence in defence contract management, with a comprehensive knowledge of a range of complex and novel contracts in a variety of scenarios including structured collaborative arrangements.

Understanding of UK MOD and single source contracting either directly with the MOD or through a prime contractor

A track record of successful contract negotiation and the management of change.

Liaise with and provide sound advices to all stakeholders.

Support to the Head of Contracts on any other tasks as required.
