The client
A well established, award winning Contractor with a family feel seek to appoint a Project Level Quantity Surveyor to join them on a permanent basis. Based in the housing division from their Greater Manchester offices. The company have a healthy pipeline of work and get regular repeat business from their clients due to the standard of service they provide. They are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join them to be office based and cover sites across the Greater Manchester region. Reporting to the Managing Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Manager,
Duties
Prepare and monitor cash flow forecasts for designated projects.
Compile and submit monthly payment applications to the Client/Clients representative.
Generate monthly valuation reports for the Management team.
Ensure timely submission of invoices for certified value and oversee payments.
Assess and approve payments to subcontractors.
Collaborate with Contract Managers to establish project specifications and requirements.
Coordinate with Contractors, Suppliers, and the Client to finalize project specifications.
Participate in meetings with colleagues and Clients/Customers as needed.
Monitor contract progress and report any changes impacting project costs or timelines.
Assist in managing individual contract budgets.
Ensure accuracy and timely production of all necessary contract documentation and reports.Candidate Key Candidate Requirements:
Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor in analogous projects, particularly as a contractor in housing construction
Proficient in numeracy and financial management, with the aptitude to grasp intricate design and costing software
Strong negotiation and teamwork abilities, along with the capacity to inspire and lead on-site personnel
Ability to thrive in a high-paced environment
JCT Design and Build contract experience
Possession of a valid drivers licenseHours of Work Site Hours – 8.00 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 8.00 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. on Friday with ½ hour for lunch each day.
Office Hours - The Company currently operates a flexible working system as follows. ‘A ‘Flexi’ hour is then to be used between the times covering the two working hours from 8.00 a.m. – 9.00 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. – 5.30 p.m., i.e. as examples
Salary and package £40,000 - £52,000
