Job Title: Health and Safety Manager
Location: Wolverhampton

Salary: £35,000 to £50,000 Based on Experience

The Role

As a Health and Safety Manager, you will be pivotal in promoting and enforcing our health and safety standards across all projects. With an electrical bias, your deep understanding of electrical safety will be crucial in guiding our M&E works. Your responsibilities will extend from strategic policy development to hands-on site inspections, ensuring that they not only meet but exceed health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legal standards and best practices, with a keen focus on electrical safety.
  • Perform risk assessments and site inspections, specifically targeting electrical safety hazards, to identify potential risks and devise preventive strategies.
  • Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near-misses, focusing on electrical safety issues, to prevent recurrence and enhance safety protocols.
  • Deliver comprehensive health and safety training, with an emphasis on electrical safety, to all levels of staff.
  • Engage with external health and safety consultants, regulatory bodies, and electrical safety organizations as required.
  • Maintain and update all health and safety documentation, ensuring accessibility and compliance with electrical safety regulations.

Requirements

  • A NEBOSH diploma or equivalent in health and safety, with a strong electrical safety background.
  • Proven track record in a health and safety role within the construction industry, ideally with experience in rail or commercial projects.
  • Excellent understanding of health and safety legislation, with a specific focus on electrical safety.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and motivate staff at all levels.
  • Effective time management skills, with the capability to balance multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
