We are currently recruiting for a Commercial Supply Chain Manager on behalf of a leading Facilities Services provider, to lead the procurement function on a large public sector contract 

Job Outline:

Reporting to the Director of Services to provide the lead on Procurement and Commercial support to all existing and future sub-contracting and supply chain management activities.

Implement regional and local procurement strategies that deliver measurable improvements in cost, quality and service, ensuring compliance with the Regional Procurement and Commercial Policies.

Active engagement with key stakeholders, including Operations, Finance, Procurement and Legal, to ensure alignment between customer needs and supply chain service delivery, compliance and commercial aspects ensuring alignment with the organisational needs and Procurement objectives.

Act as the focal point for all Supply Chain contractual/commercial issues including review/negotiation of existing/new terms and conditions of contract and subsequent risk analysis and mitigation.

Candidate requirements:

▪              At least 5 years practical Procurement experience gained in a professional purchasing role.

▪              Demonstrable experience in the procurement of FM products and services, TCO/Maintenance buying.

▪              A strategic thinker with strong commercial awareness, excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, and a target/profit driven attitude with a focus on delivering results

▪              Ability to influence a diverse group of key stakeholders at all levels.

▪              Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills.

▪              An ability to work with ambiguity whilst making decisions that are commercially sound. 

▪              Advanced knowledge of contract law and sub-contracting processes including legislative requirements around asset and facilities management.

▪              Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.

Also, the following would be useful/ideal:

▪              CIPS level 4 or above.

▪              Facilities Management knowledge

▪              Experience of the contractual requirements (Including PFI / PPP structures) and a proven ability to negotiate at a high level within this environment

▪              Clear understanding of key issues in outsourcing market.

▪              Experienced negotiator, with excellent influencing skills and ability to think on feet and make decisions under pressure. Track record of effective team working with legal, procurement, commercial and technical professionals.

▪              Excellent senior level influencing and stakeholder management skills

▪              Confident in challenging others, whilst at the same time maintaining and building a professional relationship.

▪              Personal resilience and drive to succeed.  Self-motivated to achieve against targets.
