Construction Site logistics Foreperson required for large new build distribution centre project based in Wakefield

The logistics manager will be required to manage the movement of people, goods and equipment at the construction site at all times. You will be working for the main contractor, managing a small team of direct key operatives and a larger team of sub-contract labour.

Roles and Responsibilities:

- organize and execute the site setup according with the agreed site Logistics Plan and Emergency plan at the company standardlevel: protection of existent finished surfaces, site safety signage and notice boards, safety routes, fire points, PPE.

- manage a team of operatives: a traffic marshal, a goods lift driver, 2 security guards, a welfare man and 4-10 labourers

- manage the site welfare facilities and site security

- manage a CCTV system operating 24 h/day

-organize and manage the loading bay

- organize site inductions for all personnel working or visiting the site, on a daily basis

- manage a finger print data base with all the inducted personnel on site

- deal with site suppliers for site setup, welfare, office accommodation and temporary works: scaffolding, temporary site power installations

- responsible with waste management, segregation of waste on site and waste collections

- responsible with movement of plant and materials from drop-off point in loading bay to designated areas on site

- create a Logistics H&S folder with weekly inspections of hired electrical or mechanical equipment, inspections of fire points, daily briefings to operatives, inspections of temporary works on site, operative’s allocation sheets, RAMS

- assist in weekly project team meetings to identify and resolve the logistics issues due to continuing physical site changes

- responsible with communicating and implementing the site rules to all operatives on site

- responsible with managing the emergency situations on site: accident, fire, power cut

Qualifications required for this role are CITB SMSTS, First Aid and CSCS card.
