Anderselite are recruiting for a Commercial manager with a background in Highways on a freelance basis in London.

Duration: 18.03.2024 - 26.12.2025
Location: Barnet - North London
Rate: Inside IR35 - UMBRELLA negotiable



Overall Purpose of The Role
To carry out commercial control and governance in the support and delivery of highway maintenance works. The role will support the delivery of a wide range of highway maintenance works including reactive incident response, planned maintenance and preventative works. Works cover both the carriageway and associated assets such as, Footpaths, Drainage, Road markings etc.


Key Tasks and Accountabilities
• Subcontract management Procurement/Task Order Instructions, payments, and change control
• Pricing of works and agreeing prices with the client
• Change control management (EWN &CE)
• Risk management and mitigation
• Contract opportunity development
• Monthly revenue claims and WiP management
• Forecasting based on client budgets and annual spends
• Month-end reports CVR’s, Subcontract Liabilities
• Attend Client meetings
• Develop and maintain an effective Commercial team
• Provide commercial stability and functionality of the contract


Essential Skills & Experience Required - Expected behaviours
• Previous commercial experience in Highways or an Infrastructure related sector.
• Understanding of the Highways Method of Measurement.
• Pricing of Highway Works.
• Month-end reporting including the preparation of CVRs, revenue claims, and WiP/debt management.
• Commercial forecasting based on client annual budgets
• Ability to handle large volumes of data given the nature of Highway Maintenance works.
• Demonstrable experience in the control and management of all Subcontractor elements.
• Detailed contract experience using the NEC TSC form of Contract and its various options.
• High level of commercial awareness.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering
