My client is looking for a Commercial Manager to join their commercial team based at the Yorkshire office outside of Leeds.
My client is a five-star rated privately owned regional housebuilder who specializes in 2,3-, 4- & 5-bedroom homes.

As a Commercial Manager, you will have previous experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Managing Quantity Surveyor who’s looking to step up into Commercial Management and has experience within the house building industry working for a new home developer.

Responsibilities:
• Liaising with build management teams in relation to material supply and sub-contractor trades
• Ensuring the Commercial team proactively supports the key operational requirements, targets and budgets in the areas of land acquisition and commencement budgets, subcontractor tendering and management, payments, valuation and cost to complete reviews
• Managing the workload of the commercial function ensuring the effective compliance, control, deployment and performance management of quantity surveying, taking responsibility for achieving targets
• Providing input as directed into the Commercial Land Appraisal process, to ensure all known site and development costs
• Authorising and committing expenditures on the COINS system
• Management of sub-contractor performance, working in close collaboration with build teams and site-based colleagues
• Calculating and regularly reviewing costs on developments within the regional portfolio, evaluating budgets for each aspect of site development
• Managing build costs, cash flows and budget financial information
• Managing the working partnerships with third parties
• Producing key status reports and updates on all KPIs relating to the Commercial function

The candidate requirements:
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar – Essential
• Experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Managing Quantity Surveyor who’s looking to step up into Commercial Management and has experience within the house building industry working for a new home developer
• Knowledge of Construction Design Management Regulations
• Knowledge of the Construction Industry
• Good awareness of codes of practice that impact on commercial matters e.g. Building Regulations, NHBC requirements, HSE etc
• A full UK driving license
• A good understanding of the financial implications of the methods and sequences of the build.
• Good Financial/Commercial awareness & Technical knowledge within the Construction Industry.
• Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to relate to all levels of staff
• Being organized, having analytical thinking, and good attention to detail

What we offer:
• £75000 or more (depending on experience) plus package, bonus, and many other benefits
