Our client is seeking an experienced Transport Planner to support with transportation within construction around the Wales region.

£13.60 an hour
Initial 3 month contract

Responsibilities:

~Plan and optimise transportation routes and schedules to maximise efficiency and minimise costs.
~Coordinate with drivers, fleet managers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of goods.
~Provide timely communication to all stakeholders, updating them on planned solutions to program changes, and oversee daily and weekly schedules.
~Support fleet and weighbridge staff to ensure high levels of vehicle utilization and low levels of haulier queries.
~Ensure that internal and external customers receive the high levels of service and communication expected from the transportation department.
~Manage material service levels to external and internal customers through detailed pre-planning of transportation activities and regular communication with strategic customers.
~Build and maintain working relationships with customers and stakeholders.
~Handle inbound and outbound calls related to transportation queries and updates.
~Process customer orders and ensure accurate documentation.
~Proactively identify and address any issues or changes in transportation plans.

Requirements:

~Proven experience as a transport planner or in a similar role.
~Strong understanding of transportation logistics and supply chain management principles.
~Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
~Proficiency in relevant software and tools used for transportation planning and communication.
~Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
~Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
~Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements in the transportation industry.
