About the role:

Our client is a technology-enabled manufacturer of volumetric modular homes, pushing the boundaries of automation and revolutionizing the way these homes are manufactured in the UK. As part of their expansion plans, they are seeking a Systems Integration Engineer to join their Factory 2 project team on a full-time, permanent basis.

  • Facilitate the development of new manufacturing methods, focusing on product perspective and supporting the growth of new facilities.
  • Further develop design automation, creating standardized and repeatable product and manufacturing details for a variety of house and apartment types.
  • Implement methods to optimize production throughput, minimize bottlenecks, and reduce idle time throughout the factory.
  • Improve existing software platforms, collaborating with software suppliers to develop new functionality, automate processes, and enhance efficiency.
  • Manage and test functionalities developed by design software suppliers.
  • Contribute to the design, testing, and validation of prototype test articles.
  • Generate designs for simulation purposes, as well as for testing and integrating new manufacturing machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

F2 Software Integration:

  • Automate design generation and ensure compatibility with manufacturing machinery.
  • Develop a clear plan and layout software requirements.
  • Integrate software systems (ERP, MES, design office, human workstations, machinery) in line with the plan and budget.

F2 Test Data and Simulations:

  • Create factory throughput simulations, predicting cycle times and identifying bottlenecks.
  • Ensure timely access to required data for suppliers of primary and secondary machinery.

F2 Design Integration:

  • Develop a plan to modify legacy designs for support in Factory 2.
  • Foster integration between the TopHat Design Team and Factory 2, ensuring manufacturability.

F2 Documentation and Training:

  • Understand and minimize lead time and costs for required systems integration in Factory 2.
  • Ensure efficient and effective systems integration, documenting the architecture, providing training, and delivering trial demonstrations.


  • Adapt objectives to changing project requirements.
  • Foster collaboration, share opinions, and enjoy working with the team.
