Site Manager - Social Housing Refurbishment Programme

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Manager to lead a prestigious social housing refurbishment programme. This £2 million project involves the refurbishment of seven high-rise buildings, with a focus on improving living conditions for residents. As the Site Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the project, ensuring its successful completion within a 60-week timeframe.

Responsibilities:

Project Management: Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the refurbishment programme, ensuring it adheres to the specified quality standards, timeline, and budget.
Team Leadership: Manage and coordinate a team of skilled tradespeople, including three to four specialist trades on-site, an Assistant Site Manager, and a Resident Liaison Officer.
Health and Safety: Implement and maintain a robust health and safety culture on-site, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines.
Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and residents, ensuring effective communication and resolving any issues or concerns that may arise.
Technical Expertise: Oversee the Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) works, including the installation of EVAC alert systems and new electrical distributors, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Site Operations: Coordinate and manage day-to-day site operations, including the allocation of resources, monitoring progress, and implementing effective solutions to overcome any obstacles.
Quality Control: Maintain high-quality standards throughout the project, conducting regular inspections, and addressing any deficiencies promptly.
Budget Management: Monitor project expenses, ensuring that costs are kept within the allocated budget and implementing cost-saving measures wherever possible.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed project documentation, including progress reports, site diaries, and any necessary records.
Requirements:

Proven experience as a Site Manager, preferably in social housing refurbishment projects or similar construction environments.
Extensive knowledge of construction processes, building regulations, and health and safety requirements.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse workforce.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders.
Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and solve problems effectively.
Familiarity with M&E works, including EVAC alert systems and electrical distributions, is highly desirable.
Relevant certifications, such as SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) and First Aid, are advantageous.
