Salary:                  Circa £50,000 to £60,000 Per Annum + Strong Package (Bonus included)

Our client, a growing Civil Engineering Contractor who operate within the Highways Infrastructure sector, have an excellent opportunity available for an experienced Site Agent to join their team, managing the delivery of upcoming 278 works and Highways alteration schemes, across Leicestershire, Warwickshire and Northampton. This will include self-delivering both small and large projects, from minor road improvements through to major highways schemes, such as junction and road improvement, for a mixture of local authorities.

The role will suit driven candidates with previous experience delivering projects within Highways, as a Site Agent or Site Manager, having mixed civil engineering knowledge (278 works, Groundworks Drainage, Structures, Street Lighting, Surfacing, Islands, Footways, Cycleways, Reinstatements  etc.)

Daily duties with include but are not limited to:

  • Managing projects from ECI through to completion, typically schemes valued between £1 Million - £10 Million.
  • Planning, co-ordinating and supervising site-based activities.
  • Developing client relationships and managing expectations accordingly.
  • Maintaining a safe working environment, pushing HSQE policies on projects and through the supply chain.
  • Identifying and managing resources, to ensure timely delivery of projects, including management of internal labour, plant materials and external subcontractors.
  • Completing regular project progress reports, keeping clients informed of progress made.
  • Preparing programmes of work and cost plans for projects, monitoring budgets and contracts.
  • Creating and presenting monthly reviews, forecasting project margins.

Candidates will ideally:

  • Previously worked as a Site Agent or Site Manager, successfully delivering Highway Infrastructure / Maintenance / Alteration projects, such as road improvement and junction improvement schemes.
  • Have mixed Civil Engineering experience, such as delivering reinstatements, drainage, bridge / structures work and other general civil engineering works.
  • Hold a relevant qualification in Civil Engineering / Construction, or similar (Such as a Degree/HNC).
  • Relevant qualifications such as CSCS, SMSTS, First Aid, NRSWA (Supervisor).
  • Be able to create RAMS and SSOW, identifying and managing risk vs opportunity.
  • Be able to create and implement programmes of work, ensuring internal staff and external subcontractors complete work in a safe and timely manner
  • Strong management ability, with effective communication, commercial and planning skills.  
  • Previously worked on major projects within the Infrastructure sector, for a substantial length of time.
  • Strong knowledge of HSQE regulations.
  • Strong organisation, analytical, leadership, time management and communication skills
