Our Client is offering an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Structures Engineer to join their esteemed team in the East region. They specialize in providing technical expertise in Asset Management and maintenance of Highway structures assets. As a leader in the industry, they are committed to ensuring safe and reliable journeys for their customers.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the development of feasibility studies for improvements and/or renewals, including compiling and verifying relevant documents, evidence, and options for value management. This involves considering new techniques, materials, buildability, and costs.

Lead the development of structures asset management strategies and documents, including management of substandard structures, post-tensioned structures, half-joints, concrete deck hinges, scour, headroom, pier impact, and parapets.

Develop AIP’s, conduct structural reviews and assessments.

Create technical briefs for external consultants/contractors for asset management and scheme development works and manage the delivery of those briefs.

Provide structures technical support regarding third-party/customer queries or to other National Highways asset areas such as Roads, Drainage, and Technology, etc.

Offer structure technical support in relation to reactive measures such as bridge strikes, parapet strikes, including liaison with Service Delivery colleagues to ensure safety and enact repairs.
Requirements:

Degree in Structural/Civil Engineering or equivalent with appropriate experience or Incorporated Engineer status.

Experience in Highway Structures management, inspection, assessment, and design.

Working knowledge of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) standards, methods of working, and Specification for Highway Works.

Experience in highway construction and delivery methods.

Knowledge of Construction Design Management 2015 and associated duties.
- Valid full clean driving license is a must.
