Structural Engineer
Location: Leeds
Contract Type: Full-time | Hybrid / Flexible Working Available
Salary: Competitive, based on experience + benefits

About the Company

Our client is a recognised market leader in structural steelwork design, fabrication, and installation. Over the past decade, this family-run business has experienced rapid and sustained growth, delivering increasingly complex and large-scale projects across the UK. Despite their expansion, the company remains grounded in core values: quality, integrity, and collaboration. This success has created an exciting opportunity for a talented Structural Engineer ready to thrive in a dynamic and forward-thinking environment.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer with a strong background in structural steelwork. You will join a close-knit, highly skilled in-house design team and take a hands-on role leading projects from concept through to completion.

This is a client-facing position that offers the chance to work on high-profile and technically challenging builds. It requires someone with excellent design capabilities, commercial awareness, and the confidence to guide both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Structural design and analysis of steelwork in accordance with current standards and codes
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met
  • Collaborate effectively with architects, contractors, clients, and suppliers
  • Deliver technically robust, innovative, and cost-effective solutions
  • Mentor junior engineers and coordinate internal design efforts
  • Provide input on project costing and ensure commercial viability throughout delivery

What We’re Looking For

  • Extensive experience in structural steel design, ideally within a consultancy or fabrication environment
  • Proficiency in structural design software (e.g., Tekla Structural Designer, MasterSeries, Robot, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of Eurocodes and British Standards
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritise and delegate effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commercially astute with an understanding of the construction lifecycle

What You’ll Get in Return

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Flexible and hybrid working options
  • Free on-site parking
  • Private medical insurance
  • 25 days annual leave (plus public holidays), increasing with service
  • Additional time off during the Christmas period
  • Regular company social events and a supportive team environment
