Senior Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager

Summary:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager to join our consultancy team. This role is crucial for the effective financial and commercial management of various projects within the rail sector. The ideal candidate will be based in Leeds, York, or the surrounding areas and possess a degree in Quantity Surveying or an equivalent qualification. Experience in network rail projects is essential. Skills:

Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years of relevant railway experience
Experience in procurement, cost planning, estimating, and post-contract management
Understanding of project management, planning, risk, and investment
Knowledge of railway and construction forms of contract
Strong IT and communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage fluctuating workloads
Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills
Experience in managing and developing staff
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Software/Tools:

Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project)
COINS (Construction Industry Solutions)
NEC Contracts knowledge

Certifications & Standards:

Professional qualification or working towards APC
Member of RICS or equivalent recognized body
