Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager role - Freelance - up to £350 per day - Based in Manchester

The job

This is an exciting opportunity for a significant roll out of projects throughout the UK. This will consist of numerous projects likely to be being delivered at the same time whilst multiple new schemes are also being developed & costed

My client have just started their first project and currently have visibility of around 9/10 imminent other projects, but many more are in the pipeline.

Due to this high demand and potential increase in workload they are seeking a Quantity Surveyor /Commercial Manager to work with the initial team to support this roll out. The projects will each be around £100k - £200k each and will be circa 3 week delivery duration

This will be for an immediate start

Role will consist of:

* Understanding and defining scope for each project in conjunction with the wider project team and client checklist
* Development of costs for the delivery of each locations to suit the scope/conditions for client agreement
* Development of supply chain costings and placement of orders
* Ensure procurement is fully aligned with programme demands for each location
* Ensure that we are securing best value for money and that economies of scale are maintained to achieve this through strong procurement
* Work closely with the wider team to secure appropriate quality and standards through the procurement and that no corners are cut
* Manage and oversee commercial control for each location- paying suppliers on time and in accordance with their purchase orders
* Maintain strong cash flow by ensuring all invoices are issued in a timely manner
* Develop and issue all variations / client changes that may occur through each project roll out
* Work with the team to strike the balance of maximising profitability and protection of margin, whilst delivering value for money to the client
* Involvement and support on the potential development of supply chain framework to gain true VfM and best rates

* Must be able to work on numerous projects at once - at speed and therefore able to maintain control of workload
* Collaborative approach with the wider team to actively contribute to the roll out
* High energy and willingness to go the extra mile
* Ideally history in shop fitting works
* Able to think on their feet, and develop strong commercial control of each location
