We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our client's project team delivering a major infrastructure development at Heathrow Airport. The role focuses on civils and utilities packages, including groundworks, drainage, ducting, cabling, service diversions, and associated infrastructure. This is a high-profile, safety-critical environment requiring excellent commercial acumen and a collaborative approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all QS activities on civils and utilities packages, from procurement through to final account.
  • Manage subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and appointment in accordance with company procedures.
  • Prepare, submit, and negotiate interim valuations, variations, and final accounts.
  • Monitor and report project costs, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow.
  • Identify risks and value engineering opportunities in collaboration with design and site teams.
  • Prepare and manage contract documentation (NEC, JCT, bespoke forms).
  • Ensure cost control and commercial governance are adhered to throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with planners, engineers, and the delivery team to ensure commercial alignment.
  • Manage and mentor junior QS staff, promoting best practice and commercial awareness.
  • Interface with client commercial teams and represent the company in commercial meetings.

Essential Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline with experience in major infrastructure or civil engineering projects.
  • Proven track record working on airport projects or other high-security, live operational environments.
  • Extensive experience in civils and utilities, including service diversions, drainage, and infrastructure works.
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts (Option A, C, or E).
  • Experience in managing large subcontract packages and complex commercial negotiations.
  • Proficient in cost management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and eligibility to work in the UK.
