Job Title - Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location - West Cheshire based office, Manchester based projects, 1 or 2 days working from home depending on work load.
Projects - Highways maintenance £250k - £3 million
Duties
Take full accountability for the financial and contractual performance of your projects.
Manage the Supply Chain effectively, building trusted partnerships with the suppliers.
Monitor the progress of works and report on project performance.
Leading in management, mentoring and development of commercial administrators, Trainee QS, Assistant QS and Qs.
Responsible for accurate reporting of commercial results of a portfolio of contracts across all levels of the profitability pillar.
Ability to work under own initiative in taking off quantities and taking and recording On Site Measurements.
Responsible for accurate completion and submission and agreement of final accounts.
Management of all contract commercial reporting and submission to relevant timescales.
The candidate
Must have previous experience as a quantity surveyor working on a highways project
Has experience in administering NEC forms of contracts
Demonstrates problem-solving skills and stakeholder management
Shows commitment to Health & Safety, Business Improvement, Quality, and Environmental principles
Possesses commercial understanding of all aspects of controlled operations
Extensive recurring success in a Quantity Surveying role, working on multiple projects valued between £1m - £10m.
Ability to work independently without supervision.
Thorough knowledge of monitoring cost performance of projects and contract administration.
Evidence of building effective relationships with teams.
Track record in successfully managing and delivering against deadlines.
Experience in a civil engineering environment, with some knowledge of Highways and roads infrastructure.
Good level IT proficiency.
Thorough knowledge of cost management software and tools.
Degree qualified in a Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related course (or equivalent qualification / relevant experience).
Hold or working towards a professional membership with a recognised and relevant Professional body i.e. (RICS) or Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (CICES) (desirable).
