M&E Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire

Our client, a large Tier 1 Contractor with a Wakefield based office, is seeking an experienced M&E Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a reputable company on prestigious projects.

Role Overview:

As an M&E Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) projects, ensuring accurate cost control and contract administration. Your expertise in M&E quantity surveying and strong knowledge of the construction industry will be vital in delivering successful projects, meeting budgetary targets, and maintaining high-quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documentation for M&E projects.
  • Manage and negotiate contract agreements, including variations and claims, specific to M&E works.
  • Monitor project progress, costs, and variations, providing timely cost and value reports to the commercial team and project management.
  • Implement effective change control processes, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors, managing costs efficiently within the M&E discipline.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior members of the commercial team.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience as an M&E Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry, preferably with a large contractor.
  • Strong knowledge of M&E contracts, including NEC and JCT.
  • Excellent understanding of M&E systems and installation methods.
  • Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
