Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: West Yorkshire

Company Overview: Our client is a leading construction company that specializes in water and wastewater infrastructure projects across Yorkshire. They are currently looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team to work on the Yorkshire Water Frameworks.

Job Description: The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for the management and delivery of cost control and contract administration on a range of construction projects, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The role will involve working closely with the commercial team to provide accurate and timely cost and value reporting, and ensuring that commercial risks are identified and managed effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents for construction projects.
  • Preparing and negotiating contract agreements, including variations and claims.
  • Reviewing and assessing project progress, costs, and variations, and providing regular cost and value reports to the commercial team and project management.
  • Managing the change control process and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Liaising with the supply chain to ensure that sub-contractor costs are managed effectively.
  • Providing support and guidance to junior members of the commercial team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related field.
  • At least 7 years' experience in Quantity Surveying in a construction environment, with experience in the water or wastewater industry being an advantage.
  • Experience in the management and delivery of cost control and contract administration on large-scale construction projects.
  • Good understanding of construction contracts, including NEC and JCT.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise with a range of stakeholders including clients, contractors, and sub-contractors.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
