Anderselite have been contracted to source a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a well-known, award-winning Civil contractor with a large focus on Water and Land Stability based projects in the Yorkshire region. The role will be based in Leeds with frequent visits to live projects but will be predominantly home based should you require it.  

The role will include:

  • Co-ordination and management of several schemes at one time
  • Ensure cost control is maintained throughout all functions (procurement, delivery, design)
  • Manage, provide support and mentor the QS team on project and commercial deliverables
  • Monthly valuing of works and making applications for payment
  • Identify value and agreeing change with client
  • Agree final accounts and reporting internally on the financial and contractual status of schemes
  • Production of monthly cost & value forecasts
  • Provide sub-contractor management to Projects
  • Production of impact assessments, early warning and risk expenditure
  • Manage subcontractors with the site delivery team
  • Support the Commercial Manager in respect of wider issues
  • Input into health and safety matters

You will be required to have the following skills and experience:

  • Experience in a similar QS role from a civils or M&E background
  • Excellent communicator and negotiator with a sound commercial awareness
  • Water/Wastewater Experience preferred although the role would also suit candidates from a PQS or Contract/Framework background
  • Flexibility to travel when required
  • Ability to manage workload from home
  • Knowledge of NEC3 and 4 construction contracts
  • Experience in the tender and target cost process and the review of such documents
  • Strong IT skills with experience of databases and MS Office
  • Full clean UK driving licence
  • A team player
  • A can-do attitude and enthusiasm to get the job done!
