Job Description: Senior Planner
Location: South East England, Hampshire, Portsmouth
Job Type: Contract, Full-Time
Salary: £500.00 - £550.00 Per day
Primary Industry: Construction
Secondary Industry: Environmental and Waste
Job Duties:
- Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and propose solutions to mitigate risks
- Conduct regular site visits to assess project status and ensure compliance with regulations
- Prepare and present project reports to senior management and clients
- Evaluate project performance and make recommendations for process improvements
- Provide guidance and support to junior planners and project teams
- Stay updated with industry trends and regulations to ensure compliance and best practises
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Proven experience as a senior planner or project manager in the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
- Proficient in using project management software
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Professional certification in project management (e.g., PMP)
- Experience in environmental and waste management projects
Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a senior planner or project manager in the construction industry
- In-depth knowledge of construction project planning and scheduling
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and health and safety standards
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software
Working Conditions:
- Office-based work with regular site visits
- May require occasional travel to project sites
- Work may involve exposure to construction sites and outdoor environments
- Full-time hours with flexibility to work additional hours when necessary
