Job Description: Senior Planner

Location: South East England, Hampshire, Portsmouth

Job Type: Contract, Full-Time

Salary: £500.00 - £550.00 Per day

Primary Industry: Construction

Secondary Industry: Environmental and Waste

Job Duties:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and propose solutions to mitigate risks
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess project status and ensure compliance with regulations
  • Prepare and present project reports to senior management and clients
  • Evaluate project performance and make recommendations for process improvements
  • Provide guidance and support to junior planners and project teams
  • Stay updated with industry trends and regulations to ensure compliance and best practises

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a senior planner or project manager in the construction industry
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
  • Proficient in using project management software

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Professional certification in project management (e.g., PMP)
  • Experience in environmental and waste management projects

Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a senior planner or project manager in the construction industry
  • In-depth knowledge of construction project planning and scheduling
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and health and safety standards
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software

Working Conditions:

  • Office-based work with regular site visits
  • May require occasional travel to project sites
  • Work may involve exposure to construction sites and outdoor environments
  • Full-time hours with flexibility to work additional hours when necessary
