Our client is an exciting innovative world-leader in engineering and design consultancy and construction; they have the breadth and depth of expertise to respond to the most technically challenging and time-critical infrastructure projects. Following an exciting and very successful start to AMP7 in the Water Market, the Infrastructure division is seeking a senior/principal mechanical engineer to join our expanding team. The role will be based in the North region, in the Leeds office.

They have an extensive portfolio of UK, Overseas and Globally delivered projects, helping their clients address asset creation, process improvement and plant optimisation needs. The locally focused teams incorporate expert electrical, ICA, process, mechanical and civil engineers who provide a multidisciplinary approach to solving our clients’ problems in innovating, creative, managing, building, and investing in water and wastewater infrastructure.

Role requirements:

  • Degree-qualified within mechanical engineering.
  • Ideally a Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership
  • You will have UK water/wastewater industry experience.
  • A developing external profile and reputation; a desire and willingness to raise the profile of oneself and the Company.
  • Willingness to contribute to and develop our technical knowledge networks.

Responsibilities:

  • Willing to lead and/or contribute on feasibility, outline, and detailed design projects.
  • Develop fee bids for tendering/bidding on projects
  • Design management/coordination on multi-discipline D&B projects
  • Liaise with internal and external clients within the UK and worldwide.
  • Take ownership of specific ‘skill areas or activities within our technical knowledge networks.
  • Supporting and mentoring, with the possibility of formal line management responsibilities.
  • Contributing to new innovative ideas/making suggestions for innovation.
  • Opportunity to present your project work at company meetings or at conferences.
  • Working with and developing our digital tools and products.
