Senior Electrical and ICA engineer

Our client, is an exciting innovative world-leader in engineering and design consultancy and construction; we have the breadth and depth of expertise to respond to the most technically challenging and time-critical infrastructure projects. Following an exciting and very successful start to AMP7 in the Water Market, the Infrastructure division is seeking a number of electrical, instrumentation, control and automatiob (EICA) engineers to became part of our expanding team. The roles are to be based in the south east region, including our Epsom office.

We have an extensive portfolio of UK, Overseas and Globally delivered projects, helping our clients address asset creation, process improvement and plant optimisation needs. Our locally focused teams incorporate expert electrical, ICA, process, mechanical and civil engineers who provide a multidisciplinary approach to solving our clients’ problems in innovating, creative, managing, building and investing in water and wastewater infrastructure.

EICA projects we carry out involve some of the following discipline items, including:

LV (and HV) power systems, motor control centres, process instrumentation, process automation and state of the art control systems
Electrical systems modelling
DSEAR/ATEX and functional safety
Using intelligent P&IDs, 3D designs, plant visualization and virtual reality techniques
Power systems analysis software
Using our own suite of intelligent design schedules and MCC design tool.
Role requirements:

NOTE: If you do not meet all the listed items but believe you are suitable for the role then you will still be considered.

Degree-qualified with an EICA bias; ideally a chartered Member of a recognised engineering institution.
You will be positive and enthusiastic, a confident communicator at all levels, and a team player.
You will have a keen interest in the water/wastewater industry and will ideally have already spent a proportion of your career in the water or a related similar industry that can be applied.
You will have a blend of leadership and technical expertise.
You will have experience of managing and mentor teams and/or individuals and/or projects, potentially split across disciplines and locations.
A developing external profile and reputation; a desire and willingness to raise the profile of oneself and the Company.
Willingness to contribute to and develop our technical knowledge networks.
Responsibilities (will vary depending on project and client)

Asset surveys and assessments, using cutting-edge technologies and techniques as appropriate
Feasibility, outline and detailed electrical and ICA design work (transformers, generators, LVSB, MCC, instrumentation, PLC, SCADA, telemetry etc.) including equipment and system specifications, design schedules, drawings: SLDs, BCDs, earthing, systems architecture diagrams, user requirement specifications (URS/FDS), technical design risk assessments, P&IDs, cost and programme estimations
Technical report writing at all stages of the project lifecycle
Liaison with clients within the UK and worldwide.
Support and/or lead bids, fee proposals or offers of service; development of activity schedules/work plans
Delivering projects as a part of multidisciplinary, multi-location, multi-party teams
Preparing profile-raising material such as technical papers and presentations to conferences, staff and clients
Support technical and ‘expert witness’ investigations and appraisals
Supporting and technically developing less experienced colleagues
Contributing to new innovative ideas/ making suggestions for innovation
Opportunity to present your project work at company meetings or at conferences
Working with and developing new automated digital design tools
