Senior Design manager required for a successful main contractor building 2 large new build projects in Central Manchester.
This role will be client facing, initially dealing with the developers representative teams, as well as funders planners etc. You will be acting on behalf of the main contractor, building 1 large high rise residential building initially, with a 2nd project coming on line in Q2 2022.
You will be based out of the Manchester office, with close interaction with the site teams once the projects get to site.
You will be comfortable working with multi-faceted teams and be able to work with a wide variety of key stakeholders ensuring all parties are happy with progress of the development.
The initial project will be high rise residential for a leading North West based developer. Total value of both projects combined will be in excess of £60m so experience on this level of project would be a key advantage. Final build wil provide in excess of 200 new apartments.
General responsibilities will include:
You will be tasked with controlling design activity through the rest of the pre-construction phases and through to delivery on site.
You will provide advice on design risk and opportunities for value engineering to the commercial, planning, delivery and client teams.
You will produce, agree and manage realistic design programs.
Attend design meetings with the client, their representatives, consultants and supply chain.
Once projects are on site you will ensure the delivery team are working to the specifications and assist with buildability.
There will be continuity of work in central Manchester for at least the next 3 years for the succesful candidate.
