One of my clients is looking for a Senior Architectural Technician to join their team in their Doncaster office. Our client is a well-established housebuilder operating within the Yorkshire and Midlands regions.
As a Senior Architectural Technician, you’ll become part of our client Pre-Development Team, which includes Land, Planning, Design, Feasibility Engineering and Estimating. As a part of the team, you will deliver the preparation and preconstruction elements of our developments. You’ll lead a team of technicians in the preparation of land bids and planning applications, from pre-commencement to delivery, ensuring excellence and adding creativity at every step.
It is a hybrid remote role and experience working within the residential sector is essential.

The role:
• Attend meetings with the Pre-Development Team and the wider business
• Coordinate meetings with internal stakeholders at key scheme milestones to ensure company wide review of planned developments and adherence to deadlines
• Appoint and manage external consultants where needed to prepare architectural work
• Attend external meetings with stakeholders such as councils and planning committees
• Prepare and co-ordinate land bid site layouts based on a masterplan using either hand drawn, AutoCAD or Revit
• Prepare and co-ordinate the preparation of architectural drawings and models to support a land bid and planning application
• Attend site visits to carry out analysis work for a potential project, or reflected practice.
• Make continuous improvements to each project throughout the planning process
• Co-ordinate design/layout reviews to maximise viability of schemes and allow Operational Team sign off
• Understand regulation changes and review impacts on house types
• Communicate with Sales and Marketing and Visualisation Teams to ensure consistency
• Ensure the quality of architectural information provided both internally and externally is of the highest standards

Skills, Experience & Attributes:
Experience with Design & Build Contracts
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, Autodesk Revit and Microsoft Office
Expert knowledge of residential building regulations and NHBC standards
Sound understanding of the house building processes and on-site delivery
Good written and verbal communication and influencing skills
Accuracy and attention to detail
Task prioritisation and problem resolution.
Previous experience of building relationships with internal and external partners
Demonstrated experience in residential design (houses and low rise multi-residential) within the volume house building sector-desirable
Experience in Building and Planning regulations/procedures

Essential:
• BA in Architectural Studies (or equivalent)
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the industry
