Due to an increase in work within their frameworks and continued growth within operational sectors, our client, a well know construction company is seeking to employ a Regional Commercial Manager to be based from their South Yorkshire office.

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the efficient and effective management and utilisation of commercial resources within the Business Unit in order to deliver profitable performance in line with the objectives of the regional business plan



The client undertakes work carrying out repairs and maintenance to assets and infrastructure around the UK's Canals and Rivers, Environment Agency infrastructure, E&P Railway Infrastructure and much more.



Joining the company as a Regional Commercial Manager in this specialist engineering business unit, you will be responsible for:

Supporting the BU's Operation's Director in developing and managing the regional business plan
The effective recruitment, training, deployment and utilisation of commercial staff.
Effective contribution to the maximisation of financial return on projects.
The identification of commercial business risk and developing solutions for its minimisation.
The review and negotiation of terms and conditions of contract and subcontract pre & post tender award
Managing commercial disputes.
Monitoring Business Unit Costs within budgetary constraints.
Accurately defining the commercial parameters of contracts.

Commercial and Contractual support to the estimating and bidding process.
Contributing to the commercial requirements of pre-qualification and tender documents.
Ensuring the adoption of a best practice and continuous improvement approach to all commercial processes and procedures.
Ensure that a full tender handover is completed to ensure pricing strategies, risks & opportunities are fully understood by the receiving project team
Support the development and management of the Business Units forecasts and Business Plan.
Other tasks as may from time to time be deemed necessary and are authorised by line managers.


To excel in this role, you will have previous experience in a lead Commercial role (i.e. as a Commercial Manager or Senior/Regional Commercial Manager level position) in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment.

Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management - Degree
Contractual experience with NEC or bespoke NR forms of contract
Experience in a senior level Commercial role (Commercial Manager, Senior Commercial Manager and/or Regional Commercial Manager).
Experience of multi-disciplinary maintenance engineering projects and frameworks in a contracting environment.
