Quantity Surveyor Freelance £320 - £400 a day Flexible working - 3 day on site / 2 days from home.
The client
I am currently assisting a key client looking for a freelance Quantity Surveyor to work on Greater Manchester platform extensions
You would be working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, on this scheme with a small commercial team, reporting to a Managing Quantity Surveyor on a weekly basis.
The candidate
Youll need to have a demonstrable experience working on UK rail projects, ideally with an understanding of the Rail Systems side of the industry, with either Contractor or Client sided companies.
Responsibilities and Duties
The Quantity Surveyor duties and responsibilities will include:
Efficient and effective management leading to the issuing of accurate, timely and compliant notices and correspondence
Preparation or assessment of applications, valuations, cost/value reconciliation.
Preparation and agreement of applications for payment or the assessment & preparation of payment certificates.
Cost control and forecasting. Preparing and providing input to monthly reports: value, cost, profit/loss, cash flow and budget.
Assisting with Risk and Value Management to optimise solution. Monitor and regularly review with the project team. Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks.
Contract Management, including all relevant contractual forms, methods of budgetary control and relevant software applications.
Prepare supply chain enquiries, negotiate, administer and finalise / close out supply chain contracts.
Ensure all notifications/documents are managed in accordance with the contract, and company policy.
Ongoing liaison with site team, subcontractors and Customers’ representatives
The role
This is expected to be a 6-12 month role working for a one of Europes largest Rail contractors, with the benefit of joining at the start of the scheme.

£320 - £400 a day
