Are you a Quantity Surveyor with experience working on Social Housing / Property Services projects? Here at Anderselite, we are recruiting on behalf of leading Property Services provider in Hertfordshire. Our client has asked us to identify a Quantity Surveyor that can develop and manage contract budgets and forecasts to ensure the financial control and profitability of allocated contracts.

Working in conjunction with the Senior Quantity Surveyor and Commercial team to ensure appropriate commercial controls are in place and adhered to in order to secure the Company’s full entitlement through the contract. Control of the commercial aspects of the supply chain gearing maximum leverage.

In general, the role of Quantity Surveyor he/she will be overseeing the financial performance of a variety of works across Roofing, Planned and Compliance work streams and advising on courses of action to be taken to achieve the business targets in terms of entitlements and performance.

Duties include:

• Regular reporting on sub-contractor performance.
• Developing and administering sub-contractor processes in line with SOP.
• Managing sub-contractor and client valuation accounts to support good project governance, assurance, and finance drivers.
• Only employing processes that add value to your customers and people.
• To assist the Service Delivery Manager and Operations Manager with pre-start planning, Project Execution Plans, and contract engagement strategy.
• To manage the day-to-day cost control supported by other teams and business solutions.
• Develop an understanding of the designated contract, specification, and pricing.
• Assist the Contract Manager with subcontractor selection, procurement scheduling and ensure the chosen subcontractor has the appropriate order, competency, and information to carry out their work.
• Liaise with the Service Delivery Manager and Operations Manager over contractual issues and act as required.
• Measure progress, submit valuations, submit final accounts and retention release, and monitor receipt of payment in a timely manner.
• Process subcontractor requests for payment in line with SOP’s.
• Completing and maintaining cost and value budget plans and reports for the designation projects.
• Where appropriate, assist with estimates and negotiations for future projects or phases.
• Attend project and company related meetings.
• Ensure the company is neither compromise nor disadvantaged by a contractual or financial arrangement.
• Manage the costs on a project to ensure both the company and the client is fully advised of the cost situation or variation to contract.
• To supervise with all staff, clients, consultants, and residents in a professional manner.
• Assist in ensuring company with Health & Safety.
• Any other reasonable management request.
• Ensure timely cash flow management for the Client and the group, and the supply change.
• Assisting the development and training of trainee and assistant surveyors.
• Maintaining and developing professional relationships with the Client and supply chain, to help future business development.
• Ensure record a maintain centrally on Dynamics and SharePoint.
• Follow project governance and group policy.
• Ensure quality data returns.
• Assist with developing & administering processes.
• Carry out any reasonable task as requested by your line manager.

The successful Quantity Surveyor will have:

• Excellent IT Skills and construction technology knowledge.
• Excellent Data Interpretation Skills
• Knowledge of NHF Schedule of Rates
• Knowledge of Planned works contracts
• HND/ HNC Level, in a relevant construction acknowledged course is Essential.
• BSc in a recognized construction degree is Desirable.
