Quantity Surveyor - Regional Main Contractor

Location: Yorkshire & the North East

Our client, a reputable regional main contractor, is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team. The role will involve working on a diverse range of projects, including Healthcare, Education, Accommodation, and Industrial Build, across Yorkshire and the North East.

Role Overview:
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing the commercial aspects of construction projects, ensuring accurate cost control and contract administration. Your expertise in quantity surveying and knowledge of various sectors, including Healthcare, Education, Accommodation, and Industrial Build, will be essential in delivering successful projects, meeting budgetary targets, and maintaining high-quality standards.

Responsibilities:

Prepare accurate cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documentation for projects within Healthcare, Education, Accommodation, and Industrial Build sectors.
Manage and negotiate contract agreements, including variations and claims, specific to the respective sectors.
Monitor project progress, costs, and variations, providing timely cost and value reports to the commercial team and project management.
Implement effective change control processes, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements within each sector.
Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors, managing costs efficiently across diverse projects.
Provide support and guidance to junior members of the commercial team.
Requirements:

Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry, preferably working on projects in the Healthcare, Education, Accommodation, and Industrial Build sectors.
Sound knowledge of construction contracts, including JCT and NEC, applicable to the respective sectors.
Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
