One of our rail clients is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in the
Head Office in Leeds.

Our client is a leading contractor operating within the rail industry.

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be working closely with the Senior QS and Commercial Manager.

Responsibilities:
• Develop client relationships by maintaining regular contact and meetings
• CVRs, periodic valuations/ applications and cash flow forecasting
• Monitor contract costs against agreed budgets
• Monitor contract compliance against statutory requirements, ensuring all contract correspondence is recorded
• Identify potential financial risks and evaluate options to mitigate these
• Produce, submit and agree final accounts in accordance with contractual requirements
• Liaise with the Supply Chain for the procurement, negotiation and placing of subcontract and supplier orders
• Oversee the procedures for certification of contract payments/variations and settle final accounts to sub-contractors, in line with agreed terms and conditions
Skills:
• A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience working within a contracting environment
• A HND / Degree in Quantity Surveying/ RICS or CES (or equivalent)
• The ability to work on own initiative and unsupervised
• General knowledge of NEC forms of contract
• Experience within the rail sector
• The ability to manage a fast-paced, high-volume turnover of orders, with high standards of project performance and customer satisfaction
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to engage with stakeholders
• An enthusiastic attitude and ability to hit the ground running
• High attention to detail

The Package
• £35 000 -£45 000 (depending on experience)
