Asnerselite are currently recruiting on behalf of a tier one contractor, for a QS in Accrington.

In this key role you will be commercially accountable for, with the support of the operational team, a Framework of Mechanical and Electrical projects of varying values from £10k to £1M reporting directly to the Framework Manager, working with the Operations Manager and operations team to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required levels as detailed within the Company minimum commercial standards. You will ensure all systems are adhered to and will be responsible for the day-to-day administration and management of projects under your control ensuring the successful delivery of all contracts. The role requires flexibility with travel, from a central base within the North West (Accrington) as required.

Duties and Responsibilities include  
Commercial Management and contract administration of projects including the review of customer contract terms and conditions prior to the issue of a quotation and then to assist Project Managers and Engineers in the preparation of contract risk registers.
Lead / support the production of budgets, forecasts and monthly CVR’s, through identification of risks and opportunities, contract variations, and additional works revenues.
Preparation of monthly valuation applications and final accounts.
Assisting Project Managers with the cost management and tracking process’s.
Assisting Project Managers and engineers with assessing the additional time & costs of contract variations and contractual implications.
Resolving disputes on behalf of the organisation.
Attending customer meetings to support operational staff, if contract terms are or may be an issue, negotiation meetings with customers where contract terms are not agreed and contract finalisation negotiation meetings.
Conducting periodic project progress deep dives and report finding to the Commercial Manager, including cost-to-date and cost-to-completion, progress and any contractual issues or problems.
Assisting Project Managers and engineers with tendering large projects.
Assisting with the implementation of commercial reporting systems, controls and procedures.
Participating in lessons learned post contract analysis, report finding and suggesting process improvement.

Essential

Degree calibre
Working knowledge of NEC3 ECC Option A and C and ECS Option A contract forms
Strong commercial Project Management experience, particularly negotiating, planning, estimating, costing and quoting.
Proven track record of budgeting and data analysis
Proven track record in the successful management and control of commercial terms and conditions, systems and procedures.
Computer literate (Microsoft Office).
Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to write clear and precise reports, and relate complex information in a simple way to a diverse range of people.
Strong numeracy and financial management skills with the ability to learn estimating, tracking and costing packages.
A creative and innovative approach to problem solving.
Enterprising and commercial acumen
Self-motivated leader and people manager with good influencing skills and the ability to motivate and lead colleagues on site.
Ability to work using own initiative and with minimum supervision.
Ability to work as part of a close knit management team and manage various activities / projects simultaneously within deadlines – both short and long term.
Customer-focused approach with demonstrable experience of building and maintaining long-term partnerships and relationships with clients and their project teams.
