Client:

This well known regional contractor established in the 1950s, after being founded by the original family as an electrical contracting business focused on commercial contracts, but they have now have  extensive portfolio of services includes the provision of Care, Commercial Refurbishment, Repairs and Maintenance, Engineering Services, Regeneration Programmes, Energy Efficiency and Renewables, and Facilities Management.

Summary:

We are looking for an intermediate M&E Quantity Surveyor. Reporting to a Managing QS, the QS will work closely with the project management team, be responsible for the assisting in the provision of electrical and mechanical surveying services and provide advice on all commercial aspects of construction projects including management of costs and contractual matters.

Description of Key Duties:

Managing 3/4 projects at any one-time with project average 500k – 1m

Cost planning.

Contract administration and cost control.

Work with clients on variations to the contract.

Allocate work to subcontractors.

Cost reporting and final account preparation.

Work closely with Project Managers, attend meetings and undertake site visits.

The Quantity Surveyor should have:

- HNC or equivalent

- Requisite knowledge about the construction industry

- Excellent numeracy and data analysis skills

- Effective communication skills

- Good organisational and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and achieve deadlines

- Ideally Experience working for an M&E sub contractor or building services contractor

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Up to £45’000 per year plus car or allowance
