The leading manufacturer of interior fit-out units for the construction industry is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team. With up to 20 years experience in Modular Construction, this company has project involvement in Residential, Accommodation, Refurbishments, Military, and Healthcare. This companys rapid expansion requires an experienced Quantity Surveyor to assist with the contract management. Working with large scale and varied developments across the UK and with contracts valued up to £10million it is an interesting role at an exciting time of the companys growth.

The successful candidate must have contracting or developing experience (min 3 years) to understand the processes and procedures of the role. Suitable candidate will be a motivated individual that is driven to see the progress of jobs from initial client enquiry through to completion. You will be able to assess any error and investigate it thoroughly (so good contract knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts would be an advantage). About the role
The Quantity Surveyor role is a Senior position in the business working with the Assistant Quantity Surveyor and reporting directly to the Managing Director. This job is a client-facing role as the Quantity Surveyor will be the bridge between the clients and all sections of the business from the factory floor to the sales team, designers, and finance team. As a growing business, there are opportunities for career progression. This role will predominantly focus on managing the contract process from negotiating terms through to the final account. It will require a good understanding of the construction industry, specifically construction contracts.

This role can be undertaken from the office with occasional site visits required.

Duties and responsibilities:
- Working with the sales team on commercial and contractual elements of the contract
- Active at senior meetings to discuss the commercial elements of the project
- Review of Contractors terms and negotiation of contract amendments
- Review of the contract specification and scope of work to ensure compliance
- Oversee and assist with monthly valuations and applications
- Support the accounts team with contract sum build up and application process
- Organising and negotiating collateral warranties
- Updating the Contractor on project progress (liaising with design and production)
- Manage the vesting process to secure payment for off-site materials

Requirements:
- Essential: Understand and interpret legal contract documentation
- Essential: A minimum of 3 years relevant experience in the industry
- Degree qualified
- Contractor and client experience
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings
- Confident decision maker and problem solver
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Work effectively under pressure as an individual and a team
