Quantity Surveyor – North Lancashire – Consultancy – Construction – Consultancy – up to £50,000 plus car allowance

My client is based in the Northwest of England and one of the most established names in commercial property and asset management.
They are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join and already highly successful property team.
The Quantity Surveyor will collect and evaluate information to ensure a realistic cost for the supply of works, materials, and services for refurbishment projects. Liaising with internal stakeholders, contractors, and suppliers to ensure information, profitability, costs, and value meet requirements.

Duties:
• Site working throughout the UK dependent on programme of works.
• Assist in the control of individual contract budgets.
• Monitor contract progress, assessing and reporting on any issues that may impact on project costs and/or time scale.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to establish the project specification and requirements.
• Assist in the preparation, processing and selection of estimates, bids and tenders to demanding timescales.
• Prepare and monitor cash flow forecast for designated projects.
• Prepare monthly valuation reports.
• Value and authorize sub-contractor payments.
• Attend and contribute to meetings with colleagues regarding projects.
• Preparation of valuations/applications for payment with full supporting documentation in accordance with the project.
• Management of subcontract and material procurement schedules.
• Drafting of complex subcontract arrangement including professional services and terms of engagement.
• Prepare and handover pre-construction information to the project delivery team.
• Working on tender documentation / submission as part of wider project team.
• Preparing bill of quantities.
• Advise on value engineering solutions to reduce costs.
• Actively benchmarking costs to prove value for money.
• Administration of JCT contracts.

The Candidate:
• HND/Degree qualified in relevant subject
• MRICA qualified, or working toward chartership
• Must be an experienced Quantity Surveyor
• Proficient in the use of MS Office
• Must be flexible in hours of work and travel and hold a full UK driving license
• Previous experience working on refurbishment projects would be advantageous

Salary:
• Up to £50,000 (d.o.e) + 10% car allowance
• Health care scheme
• 25 days holiday per year (increases with service)
