Quality Manager - civil engineering / rail - tier one main construction contractor - Southern region (hybrid working, with a base in a regional office/work from home) - £50k-£60k+package

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Quality Manager to join our established and expanding business and be responsible for ensuring that all projects are compliant to the business systems controls, processes and driving a culture of continuous improvement across the organisation

As Quality Manager, you will be joining a specialist national Quality team, responsible for the ensuring that all projects are compliant to the business systems controls and processes and driving a culture of continuous improvement across the organisation. 


Your day to day duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Support deployment of the SHEQ Strategy and Quality Management Strategy within your region
Ensure that the BMS is implemented and complied with within your region
Develop and manage regional and sector specific procedures as needed consulting with other team members to ensure these meet the minimum standards of the BMS
Support projects within your region to ensure Quality governance is implemented e.g. by development and implementation of robust Quality Plans and ITPs
To keep up to date with the latest developments in legislation and practice, monitor trends and regularly benchmark to ensure the company remains up to date on related issues
Maintain a risk based audit schedule for your region ensuring appropriate sampling across a representative range of functions, projects and processes
Deliver robust assurance by completing audits
Support teams to undertake root cause analysis where issues are identified through assurance
Ensure appropriate actions are identified and implemented to address identified issues and their root causes
Review findings of other assurance activities within the region to ensure key trends are identified, understood and appropriate actions implemented
Coordinate and support external assurance activities such as ISO certification
Review and maintenance of all Client-specific assurance cases and licences (e.g. NHSS-20, SCCS, Verify and RISQS D&A).
Conduct supply chain assurance
Collaboratively identify issues within the region and undertake improvement projects as necessary ensuring benefits and key learning is captured and shared with other regions.
Act as a conduit for best practice sharing and lessons learned ensuring key learning is captured and shared both across projects within the region and with other regions
Monitor leading and lagging performance indicators for Quality across the region to identify trends and areas for improvement
Produce reports as requested for the regional management team
Produce reports as requested to collate into wider SHEQ reporting
Provide support and information for tendering activities as requested


Requirements
To excel in this role, you will have previous experience as Quality Manager in a rail and civil engineering project or framework contract environment.
CQI Member or equivalent
Experience in engineering/construction preferably within a rail project environment.
