Quality Engineer role based at Sellafield working for a large main contractor.

After a significant framework win our client is seeking an experienced Quality Field Engineer to join the team based at Sellafield, Cumbria.

The core task will be to carryout inspections of the works completed throughout the construction stages to ensure the final are to the right quality and standards, in conjuncture with the on-site project team.

Key Duties:
• Ensure the Works are constructed in accordance with the contract issued to the main contractor.
• Provide input during scoping, design, execution, and project closeout to ensure baseline documents are accurate, design documents are adhered to, and as-built configurations are verified.
• Identify potential quality issues before they arise, coordinating technical solutions, and providing timely guidance to the project team throughout the build.
• Submit details of any non-conformance on site and issue non-conformance reports
• Contribute timely surveillance information to support KPI indicators.
• Review Contractor performance against the Quality Control Plan with project team.

Required Experience:
• A broad understanding of the main contractor’s activities relating to the delivery of the mechanical scope of works.
• Proven exposure to a regulated industry
• A demonstrated understanding of field engineering principles and have applied these principles on the job.
• Proven track record in building and fitout works.
• Proven ability of reading and understanding engineering design documents, drawings, and specifications to ensure their completeness and constructability, and writing accurate, concise, and relevant diaries.
• Demonstrated expertise in reading and understanding engineering design documents, drawings, and specifications to ensure their completeness and constructability.
• Track record in collaborative problem solving to resolve nuclear facility engineering issues in the field as the liaison between design engineers and the contractor.
• Experience in the methods of construction for RC and steel frames, Fitout and MEP

Qualifications required:
• HND in a Construction/ MEP Engineering qualification or equivalent vocational training and experience.
