Are you a highly organised and driven individual with a proven track record of managing multiple large-scale construction projects? We are seeking a talented Project Manager to join our team and lead a range of steelwork contracts. The ideal candidate should have proven experience in:

  • Managing multiple or large steelwork orientated contracts
  • Managing clients / sub-contractors and teams of individuals with a range of skill sets and abilities
  • Negotiating with client commercial teams
  • Working within a fully audited Quality Assurance system in accordance with BS9001
  • Reviewing contract drawings, raising technical queries on anomalies / missing information / VE suggestions
  • Managing technical query process including status register
  • Raising sub-contract, plant and material orders via Focalpoint system
  • Valuing sub-contract applications and issuing certificates / withholding notices as required
  • Registering, pricing, and managing variations to contract
  • Producing monthly contract status reports including financial forecast
  • Visiting sites and carrying out regular Health and Safety audits to ensure staff and sub-contractors are adhering to agreed RAMS and are working safely
  • Maintaining detailed QA records in order to maintain CE accreditation to execution class 3 and liaising with external auditors on their annual re-certification visits
  • Carrying out annual appraisals for staff under their control
  • Liaising with senior engineering staff to agree programmes / priorities for multiple contracts
  • Maintaining regular contact with staff and operatives to ensure that the workforce is motivated
  • Maintaining regular contact with clients to ensure security of future business
  • Understanding site requirements in respect of preliminaries
  • Identifying opportunities to add value throughout the project process
  • Playing an active role which positively contributes to a team.

To be successful in this role, you should have a minimum HND/HNC qualification in a Construction related subject, along with a formal Health and Safety qualification such as NEBOSH. You will have experience negotiating with client commercial teams, managing clients, and subcontractors.

You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of multiple projects, producing programs of work, and allocating tasks to staff. You will manage technical queries, negotiate with the supply chain, and raise sub-contract, plant, and material orders.

In addition, you should have good computer literacy and be proficient in Microsoft Office software packages, as well as Microsoft Project. You will be required to keep detailed QA records and carry out regular Health and Safety audits to ensure staff and sub-contractors are adhering to agreed RAMS and are working safely.
