Health and Safety Advisor - major construction project - St Albans, Hertfordshire - £50k+benefits package

We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to oversee a large-scale civil engineering and building project in Hertfordshire. The role will focus exclusively on this project, ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, and welfare legislation, and embedding a strong safety culture across the site.

Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day health & safety support and advice to the project team.
Carry out regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments, ensuring high safety standards are maintained.
Review and monitor method statements, RAMS, and safe systems of work for compliance.
Deliver toolbox talks, inductions, and safety briefings to site operatives and subcontractors.
Lead and support accident/incident investigations, producing clear reports and implementing lessons learned.
Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations and liaise with the Principal Contractor, client, and relevant authorities as required
Maintain accurate site health & safety documentation and reporting records.
Promote a proactive approach to health and safety throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements:
Minimum NEBOSH General Certificate or Construction Certificate (essential).
Previous experience as a Health & Safety Advisor on construction or civil engineering projects.
Strong understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation and CDM Regulations.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with site teams and subcontractors.
Competent in writing reports, delivering training, and advising on best practice.
Membership of IOSH (desirable).
Valid CSCS card (preferred).
Full UK driving licence, with ability to travel to site daily.
