Busy Cardiff Architectural studio is seeking to appoint a Principal Consultant/ CDM Consultant for their busy office. The role presents an opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join an established consultancy that has a great range of interesting and exiting projects.
The role will involve delivering Principal Designer / Principal Designer Adviser / Client CDM Adviser services, in addition acting as in house CDM Adviser to the Architectural team.
This position would suit someone with experience in a similar position, in depth knowledge of the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015 and the necessary skills to positively implement and promote effective design risk management processes on current and future projects.

The Role
The role requires an in depth understanding of design and construction processes and the ability to communicate effectively.
It demands a clear understanding of the legal requirements of the CDM Regulations.
In particular the role will require you to:
* Inform, advise and assist clients in discharging their duties under CDM 2015
* Plan, manage and monitor health and safety in the pre-construction phase, including identifying, eliminating or controlling foreseeable risks, so far as reasonably practicable
* Work with Designers to ensure their duties are discharged
* Collate Pre-Construction Information and identify how any information gaps will be resolved in a timely manner to ensure sufficient consideration of health and safety issues
* Attend design team meetings and chair CDM workshops
* Carry out design reviews throughout the pre- construction phase
* Liaise with the Principal Contractor throughout the construction phase
* Develop and prepare Health and Safety File's
* Assist with the development internal processes to ensure continual improvement of the services
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Essential
* Detailed knowledge of construction process from design through to completion
* Well-organised, diligent, proactive, disciplined and commercially aware
* Excellent IT skills
* Ability to use various data platforms and experience of collaborating using Common Data Environments (CDE)
* Qualified to degree level in Construction (including design) related field, or alternatively with a construction sitebased background including Site Management experience on large scale projects
* At least 5 years post qualification experience in design or construction management roles
* Ability to work flexibly, on own initiative or as part of a team
* Ability to prioritise and manage workload, carry out tasks diligently to maintain quality and meet deadlines
* Full UK Driving License and access to a vehicle
Desirable
* Member of the APS / IOSH or equivalent professional body
* NEBOSH Construction Certificate
* NEBOSH Fire Certificate
* Knowledge of Building Information Modelling (BIM) is desirable
* Knowledge of Building Information Modelling (BIM) is desirable
* Appropriate CSCS card holder
