Planner/Senior Planner required to work on major civil engineering projects for a major national contractor, who pride themselves on the high skill level of their employees. They work across many civil engineering sectors that includes Rail. Known for their strong heritage, they have a proven track record of successful complex project delivery. They are now looking for a high calibre Planner/Senior Planner to be part of a major project working on cut and cover tunnels, bridges and heavy earthworks project based out of the West Midlands,** This role is outside IR35 and is home and site based in the Midlands.

The Role

You will be:

planning and monitoring civil engineering works packages on a high profile projects that includes Rail projects, earth works, bridges and tunnels

producing progress reports on work packages

managing risk plans and developing contingency plans

develop and maintain the contractors plan in accordance to the contract

ensuring the effective and efficient maintenance of the programme

communicate programme performance, time and outcomes in a timely way with stakeholders

preparation of tender and method information for inclusion in submission document as per the tender deliverables requirement.

develop short term programmes as per the requirements of the team to assist in managing micro elements of the project.

assess the effects of client changes to the contract programme and advice the management if any delay notices/Early warnings are to be raised for extension of time on the project.

conduct programme audits as required by senior management and submit independent reports


About You

You will:

ideally have an engineering background ideally from a site perspective

have experience gained from working on earthworks, bridges and tunnel projects

have at least 5 years planning experience

be competent use of industry software in - Primavera P6, ASTA and Microsoft Project

have experience of working with a wide range of planning techniques in both tendering and contract delivery

have a clear understanding of contractual interfaces with the planning function.
