Our client is looking for an experienced and proactive individual to fill the role of Package Manager for the Box Encapsulation Plant project.

The Work Package Manager will play a crucial role in the BEP project, which is a cornerstone of the Sellafield Site's clean-up program. The successful candidate will lead the coordination and delivery of multi-discipline work packages, ensuring they meet project requirements, deadlines, and quality standards.

They will be responsible for managing external subcontractors, maintaining configuration control, and fostering collaboration among project stakeholders.

Rate: £53 an hour PAYE
Location: Sellafield Cumbria (site based)
1 year freelance contract


Key Responsibilities:

~Coordinate the delivery of multi-discipline work packages throughout all project phases, including engineering design, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
~Assume accountability for the entire lifecycle of assigned work packages, from inception to completion.
Identify and manage changes effectively, ensuring configuration control is maintained.
~Lead the package team to achieve key project milestones within specified timescales, budget, and quality parameters.
~Act as the primary contact for external subcontractors and design houses, managing interfaces and contracts as necessary.
~Provide project and customer reporting as required, ensuring transparency and effective communication.
Collaborate with the BEPDT Management Team to ensure the successful delivery of the BEP project for the client.
~Demonstrate proficiency in managing packages of work on EPC projects or similar, with a proven track record of success.
~Familiarity with NEC3 contracts and experience in project management methodologies.
~Qualifications in Project Management are preferred.
~Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team in a dynamic environment.
~Experience in Mechanical and/or EC&I services, preferably within the nuclear sector.
~Hold a minimum of an HND or equivalent qualification.
~Capable of achieving the Sellafield Baseline Personnel Security Standard.
~Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; understanding of planning software such as Primavera P6 is an advantage.
