Our client’s Building Design business provides multidisciplinary engineering services and integrated solutions across a wide range of projects relating to buildings and infrastructure. Drawing upon a diverse skill set and a proven track record of delivery we are playing a leading role in some of the world’s most challenging and exciting engineering projects across sectors including Commercial, Residential, Education, Energy, Defence and Transportation.

You will have the opportunity to work with major clients on stimulating and high-profile projects both in the UK and abroad. As well as the role providing technical and creative challenges you will have the satisfaction of working on projects which are changing the way people live and work today.

Our client is seeking a candidate able to demonstrate a high level of technical capability within the building structures sector, who can deliver Drawing and Modelling support to our designers. Your experience to date will have included involvement in a range of market sectors noted above (in particular Rail) and to include detailing of key structural engineering materials, such as steel, concrete, timber and masonry.

Qualities We Are Looking For

  • Proven track record in Bentley Modelling and Visualisation Software delivery from concept to construction. (Min 5 years).
  • Robust understanding and working knowledge of CIC BIM Protocol and PAS 1192 and ability to support in the development of project BIM Execution Plans.
  • Ability to develop 3D structural models to BIM Level 2 requirements.
  • Able to demonstrate a capability of problem solving and understanding of the wider engineering context of your drawings and models.
  • Ability to utilise the power of the software packages to communicate complex engineering and geometrical designs in both 2D and 3D drawings.
  • Experience of packages such as Navisworks, RC Detailing, AUTOCAD and REVIT will be beneficial.
  • Experience of proactively working in and supporting on largescale multidiscipline projects and ProjectWise workflow process is desirable.
  • An ability to work on one’s own initiative and as part of a team of engineers and technicians.
  • Good general knowledge of construction techniques and materials.
  • Good organisational and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to self-check their work and those of others.
  • Responsibilities and other requirements.
  • Responsible for accurate and reliable production of 2D structural drawings and 3D models from engineering sketches and other discipline information.
  • Responsible for delivery of structural drawings and models across all materials.
  • Responsible for mentoring apprentice technicians.
  • Responsible for working closely with our engineers to understand and foresee practical challenges within a design and to work with the team to resolve design and detailing challenges.
  • Responsible for document control using client’s electronic management systems.

Rewards And Benefits

We offer a competitive salary that is regularly tested against other consultants with a default 25-days leave each year plus bank holidays and options to buy some or sell of that leave. Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
