MEP Head Of Projects

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a well-known SME contractor for a Head Of Projects. This role will include directorship and profit related shares within the business.

starting off with a project already won worth £1.5m - your role will be to grow and develop the department from there, with the support of the wider business. 



Role
• Prepare M&E tender documents for D&B projects as and when necessary
• Undertake technical review of clients’ documentation and specifications, producing commentary and guidance on the risks and complications posed.
• Identify Value Engineering Options
• Attend client site visits
• Attend client interviews
• Undertake analysis of sub-contractor quotations, make recommendations regarding contractor selection.
• Comment on procurement schedules
• Comment on installation programmes
• Manage/review M&E design process
• Manage and review the validation process – clarify the scope of what validation covers
• Manage Final Package Scope & Cost for all MEP works– Assist with final selection of M&E contractor (if further negotiations are required)
• Manage the suitable procurement of materials, labour and services from specialist sub-contractors / consultants. Improve our buying (price and service levels) without resorting to post contract subby bashing.
• Manage MEP sub-contractors financial variations and final account
• Monitor MEP progress on site
• Manage MEP close out 6. Review MEP subcontractor RAMS
• Assist in the development of company systems and procedures to improve safety, efficiencies and profit

Requirements
• Hold at least 5 years’ project management experience
• Able to demonstrate profitable commercial projects managed in a commercial environment
• Have good commercial acumen with involvement in projects from concept through to handover
• Able to communicate effectively at all levels
• Past experience of being in charge of P&L on projects worked on
• Qualifications in building services (mechanical or electrical)
• Good knowledge of MEP installations on projects from £300k - £1.5m
