Due to increased Workload we are asisting in the recruitment of a Lead Mechanical engineer to join the team at Associate level and become an integral part of a growing Manchester office.

Working with a large international, independent real estate multi disciplinary. Workload is with owners, occupiers, developers and funders, in both private and public sectors.

The company are recognised specialists in M&E, due diligence surveys, measured surveys, project management, cost management, party walls, rights of light, environment, energy & sustainability.

The role is for an associate engineer (mechanical) to join the MEP team in Manchester. You will take the lead on MEP projects in the North of england.

This will involve winning work, client care, recruitment, mentoring and leading teams to prepare schemes and detailed engineering designs. The successful candidate will have proven design experience. This is a perfect _next step_ role for someone to develop their career and become more client facing.

Key Responsibilities:

Undertaking core MEP services to colleagues and clients
Mechanical expert, able to mentor graduates and junior engineers.
Work winning - securing opportunities, preparing proposals, presentations,
Developing Client relationships
Assessing staff requirements at each work stage, and be able to manage single disciplinary and multi-disciplinary projects.
Represent the company at Client, Design Team and Progress meetings throughout the design and construction phases of projects.

The succesful candidate will have a minimum of 8 years Post qualification experience, hold a Degree in building services/mechanical engineering, be a Chartered engineer with CIBSE/IMECHE.
You will have Expert knowledge of applicable building regulations, UK legislation, British Standards and CIBSE Guides in relation to mechanical building services

You will be able to produce client briefs, technical proposals, cost advice, design reviews, outline and scheme design reports, detailed designs, specifications, value engineering.
Your report writing and communication skills are required to be outstanding and the ability to liaise professionally with clients and colleagues is essential.
You will have the ability to work accurately, independently and efficiently, and to take ownership of projects.
You will have experience in project and client management within a defined fee budget and program, including managing team resources and interfacing with other disciplines.

The role will be based working at home for the foreseeable future, with the obvious exception of client lead or internal meetings when required. This has proved very successful so the WFH model will remain in place.
