Our client, a large Civil Engineering Contractor is currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. In this role you will work on 2 x Design & Build projects within the Water sector, part of the AMP7 Framework, near Studley & Solihull.

You will be responsible for the accurate and safe delivery of mechanical engineering works within a MEICA environment on water treatment plants, therefore previous experience working within the Water sector is highly preferred.

Daily duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Mechanical Design or Installation work on a range of MEICA schemes, ranging in value.
  • Delivering works through design, installation, commission and testing phases.
  • Performing calculations and simulations to ensure product performance and reliability.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including civil engineering to determine project requirements and objectives.
  • Conducting feasibility studies and cost analyses for other proposed works.
  • Identifying and resolving technical issues during the design, development and MEICA phases.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations, including HSQE.
  • Conducting quality control inspections and tests on prototypes and final products.
  • Providing technical support documents and providing guidance to production and maintenance teams, including input into ITP’s and O&M manuals.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and records of design specifications, test results, and project progress.

Candidates will ideally:

  • Have a relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, such as a HNC, Degree or higher.
  • Have worked in a similar role before, delivering works within the Water sector / AMP Frameworks.
  • Have experience of delivering various MEICA works, including interface with civil engineering requirements.
  • Have strong knowledge of engineering principles and construction techniques, including best practices.
  • Have a strong knowledge of HSQE legislation, always completing work in the correct manner.
  • Have experience liaising with subcontractors/3rd parties (Preferred but not essential).
  • Be an organised individual, with good communication and I.T skills.
