Our client, a large Civil Engineering Contractor is currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. In this role you will work on 2 x Design & Build projects within the Water sector, part of the AMP7 Framework, near Studley & Solihull.
You will be responsible for the accurate and safe delivery of mechanical engineering works within a MEICA environment on water treatment plants, therefore previous experience working within the Water sector is highly preferred.
Daily duties may include but are not limited to:
- Mechanical Design or Installation work on a range of MEICA schemes, ranging in value.
- Delivering works through design, installation, commission and testing phases.
- Performing calculations and simulations to ensure product performance and reliability.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including civil engineering to determine project requirements and objectives.
- Conducting feasibility studies and cost analyses for other proposed works.
- Identifying and resolving technical issues during the design, development and MEICA phases.
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations, including HSQE.
- Conducting quality control inspections and tests on prototypes and final products.
- Providing technical support documents and providing guidance to production and maintenance teams, including input into ITP’s and O&M manuals.
- Maintaining accurate documentation and records of design specifications, test results, and project progress.
Candidates will ideally:
- Have a relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, such as a HNC, Degree or higher.
- Have worked in a similar role before, delivering works within the Water sector / AMP Frameworks.
- Have experience of delivering various MEICA works, including interface with civil engineering requirements.
- Have strong knowledge of engineering principles and construction techniques, including best practices.
- Have a strong knowledge of HSQE legislation, always completing work in the correct manner.
- Have experience liaising with subcontractors/3rd parties (Preferred but not essential).
- Be an organised individual, with good communication and I.T skills.
