About the role:

The client has a role open for a Mechanical Design Engineer (R&D). You will play a key role in helping the client remain at the forefront of innovative design in modular homes and ensure its products improve continuously, increasing in quality and cost-efficiency.


Key accountabilities:

  • Work with the technical team, suppliers and academics to design and develop new products
  • Review existing products and drive continuous technical improvement in their design and delivery
  • Deliver specific projects in line with the above objectives, co-ordinating the various parties and driving the delivery of commercially viable outcomes
  • Co-ordinate the testing and approval of newly developed products

You will have:

  • A Batchelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Architectural Technology/Science, Building Physics or Environmental Science.
  • Possess Institute of Building Control qualifications.
  • Be confident in understanding technical drawings and specifications
  • Demonstrate excellent IT skills and knowledge
  • Have strong numerical, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Be creative and intellectually curious in your approach to problem solving
  • Show a passion for innovation and be tenacious in getting to an outcome
