Role: Mechanical Design Engineer

I am currently working with a multi-award-winning, multidisciplinary company that boasts over 70 years of consultancy experience on some of the most prestigious projects around the UK and abroad. Having worked with both local authorities and private sector clients, they have worked across all sectors to provide sustainable, innovative, and economic solutions within the built environment.

They are currently looking for a mechanical design engineer to become part of their Nottingham office and become at the forefront of creating mechanical models and drawings for commercial, residential, and retail projects, just to name a few. You will be working with a wide spectrum of people within your team, as well as collaborating alongside structural engineers, quantity surveyors, project managers, and architects from external teams. You will be working on mechanical designs that cover several sectors, along with liaising with clients and representing the company at all levels.

You will be responsible for:
• Delivering on projects from initiation through completion.
• Working both cooperatively as a team and autonomously to deliver projects.
• Be flexible in your approach to travelling for project-related work.
• Liaising with external parties and clients throughout the project lifespan.

Your qualifications and skillset will include:
• A relevant degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering.
• Fluent in REVIT and other suitable design software tools, ideally some understanding of MagiCAD.
• Working towards a chartered status or, at minimum, having an interest in doing so.
• Previous experience managing a team is desirable.
