About the Role:
Our client seeking a proactive and experienced Maintenance Surveyor to join their Property Services team. You will play a key role in ensuring their housing stock is maintained to a high standard, delivering excellent service to our residents and supporting the organisation’s commitment to safe, secure, and sustainable homes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct property inspections and condition surveys across the housing portfolio.
- Diagnose building defects and specify appropriate remedial works.
- Prepare schedules of work and oversee maintenance and repair projects.
- Manage contractors and ensure works are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Respond to tenant repair requests and complaints, ensuring timely resolution.
- Monitor compliance with health and safety regulations, including fire safety, asbestos, and gas safety.
- Support the delivery of planned maintenance and cyclical works programmes.
- Maintain accurate records and update asset management systems.
- Provide technical advice to colleagues, tenants, and stakeholders.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in a similar surveying or maintenance role, ideally within social housing.
- Strong knowledge of building construction, maintenance, and repair techniques.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in using IT systems and property management software.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Degree or HNC/HND in Building Surveying, Construction, or a related field.
- Membership of a professional body (e.g., RICS, CIOB) is advantageous.
- Knowledge of housing legislation and regulatory standards.
