About the Role:

Our client seeking a proactive and experienced Maintenance Surveyor to join their Property Services team. You will play a key role in ensuring their housing stock is maintained to a high standard, delivering excellent service to our residents and supporting the organisation’s commitment to safe, secure, and sustainable homes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct property inspections and condition surveys across the housing portfolio.
  • Diagnose building defects and specify appropriate remedial works.
  • Prepare schedules of work and oversee maintenance and repair projects.
  • Manage contractors and ensure works are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Respond to tenant repair requests and complaints, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Monitor compliance with health and safety regulations, including fire safety, asbestos, and gas safety.
  • Support the delivery of planned maintenance and cyclical works programmes.
  • Maintain accurate records and update asset management systems.
  • Provide technical advice to colleagues, tenants, and stakeholders.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in a similar surveying or maintenance role, ideally within social housing.
  • Strong knowledge of building construction, maintenance, and repair techniques.
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in using IT systems and property management software.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Degree or HNC/HND in Building Surveying, Construction, or a related field.
  • Membership of a professional body (e.g., RICS, CIOB) is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of housing legislation and regulatory standards.
