About the role:

 

Our client is a technology-enabled manufacturer of volumetric modular homes, pushing the boundaries of automation and revolutionizing the way these homes are manufactured in the UK. As part of their expansion plans, they are seeking a Maintenance Manager to join their Factory 2 project team on a full-time, permanent basis.

 

As the Maintenance Manager you will design and implement their maintenance and site management systems and processes, and subsequently oversee the business’s planned and reactive maintenance tasks including the upkeep of the new facility, scheduling and supervising maintenance workers and contractors, and responding to maintenance emergencies.


*Regular travel/overnight stays will be required to our Derby site for training for which expenses will be covered. This role will be based in our new facility in Corby, UK.


The Role:

Design and build the Top hat maintenance system
Maintain and regularly update processes as required by the business
Manage contract relationships and negotiate new contracts
Prepare preventative maintenance strategies to maximise equipment lifespan and availability
Manage and coordinate facility wide spares, site storage etc, to ensure continued operations
Ensure safety and quality compliance with statutory regulations and inspections
Overseeing general building repair and maintenance, installation, and repair of equipment in both factory and office areas
Ensure that equipment servicing, and calibrations are performed in line with customer and supplier recommendations
Respond to organisational requests in a timely manner while providing an elevated level of customer service, communication, and support
Perform as appropriate daily, weekly etc building walks to monitor the general operation, safety, and condition of the facility. Proactively communicate, plan, and implement solutions with the operations team to resolve findings.
Manage a facilities budget and report against progress and challenges
Oversee the machine installation and testing schedule for factory 2
Part of the Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
Implementing Time preventive maintenance (TPM) and Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) Arrange the team training (specific)
Create a system for shopfloor hand tools repair management
Contracts management (maintenance LVL3)
Team task allocation for efficient priority maintenance
Parts and tools order management
Workshop design and implementation for factory 2


Do you fit the bill?

Electrical, Mechanical or Calibration Maintenance experience in a relevant industry
Experience in creating a maintenance schedule from scratch
The ability to understand the risks of equipment, and create performance-based maintenance strategies to support critical site processes
First-hand experience of equipment diagnostics and repair
Technical understanding of electrical, mechanic, and hydraulic systems for planning and troubleshooting
Experience conducting site inspections and identifying areas requiring extra maintenance work
Experience performing, scheduling, and managing contractors.
Good verbal communications skills and an ability to operate effectively under pressure
Organisational skills for scheduling maintenance tasks and ensuring job completion
Diligence, ensuring maintenance tasks are not overlooked and minor site problems do not become major site problems
A safety-based work approach and experience with task-based Risk assessments
