Head of Planning (Rail +Civils)

The Company

Head of Planning required for an Infrastructure specialist comprising of engineering and construction services active in sectors that include Rail. They are renowned for their BIM capabilities and investing in their staff providing a highly skilled and equipped workforce for their clients. They are now looking to add to their planning capabilities by recruiting a high calibre Head of Planning to work on Rail and infrastructure projects on a permanent basis out of the North West.

The Role

Working on Rail projects you will:

Lead a team of senior planners and planners working on assigned projects

Establish effective planning and control processes

Assist in the preparation of overall bids as necessary

Attend and contribute to tender programmes meetings

Make presentations to stake holder & Clients as required

Monitor hours and costs to determine trends and to assist in forecasting.

About You

You will:

Have experience of leading a planning or project controls team

Previous experience of managing a planning team

Have experience of reviewing schedules programs and tender documentation.

Experience of planning ideally in the rail sector

Have experience of civil engineering contracting as a project manager or agent

Ideally hold a HNC/Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or a related subject

Competent use of industry software in particular Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.

Experience of working with a wide range of planning techniques in both tendering and contract delivery.

Have a clear understanding of the commercial and contractual interfaces with the planning function.
